The Hosanna Brass started in 1994 when a couple of church members were asked to play their trumpets for a friend’s wedding. Then, our euphonium player joined the trumpets, and the group accompanied the Chancel Choir on special anthems. A leader was drafted to focus the group’s efforts, and our tuba and trombone players joined. When the group agreed to practice and play on a regular basis, the Hosanna Brass was established.

While all the members began playing their instruments in elementary or middle school, several hadn’t played for several years prior to joining.

Currently consisting of eight horn players, a director and a part time pianist, The Hosanna Brass performs monthly at their home church, Simpsonville UMC, and quite often at other churches throughout South and North Carolina.
